Gerry was born in Worthing, England in 1968. He moved to Canada as a child and started playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 10.

He became a christian when he was 18 in a "Road to Damascus" type conversion.

In 1995, he married his wife Allison with whom he shares the responsibility of leading the Sunday worship at Grace Baptist Church in Mississauga, Ontario.

His music style is varied, and ranges from folk to rock to experimental.
